Kingsgen Leadership Mentoring Academy (KLEMA)
From Classroom to Boardroom
To keep up with our rapidly changing world and stand out from the crowd, students need to be great communicators, great collaborators, adaptable, resilient and creative.
Kingsgen are delivering courses that will bridge the gap between academic success and life in the real world.
KLEMA, from classroom to boardroom is a two year programme but young people can sign themselves off the programme after 12 months. The programme is for young people from age 15-21.
As the prime minister David Cameroon wrote in 2013 Powerlist: “We should never underestimate the power of role models.” When teenagers see high achievers who look like them, who are leaders in the seven spheres of influence, they will start thinking, ‘I can do that; I can go far too’. Seeing and hearing other people who look like them stories, it normally inspire them and raise their aspirations.
In May 2013, we took 30 students to Oxford University where two undergraduates from disadvantaged background spoke to them as part of the programme. A sizeable number of the students wrote in their feedbacks that they now have a positive mindset to try Oxbridge as their university choice.
Our mentees attend monthly innovative and fun leadership workshops where young adults both learn and apply essential leadership, entrepreneur and soft skills into their leadership, business, entrepreneurship and career development. Our mentoring workshops cover all the Five QUOTIENTS and financial intelligence.
